Winter Is Coming’s first scoop?

An anonymous poster has commented on the blog entry regarding Daenerys appearing in the pilot. I believe this is worthy of its own entry, since I’m sure there are quite a few readers who do not read the comments. Said poster states he (or she) is an entertainment industry professional that was able to get their hands on the script. The poster confirmed that Dany does in fact appear in the pilot episode. The mystery poster also goes on to reveal more of the pilot’s contents. Click through to check it out.

I am telling you folks that Dany is WITHOUT QUESTION in the pilot! This is not speculation. The script is sitting on my lap as I type this.

Her storyline appears throughout. We cut to her and Viserys in Pentos right after Jon Snow discovers the albino direwolf pup.

The action consists of her betrothal, the gift of the dragon eggs her and marriage to Khal Drogo. We also meet Ser Jorah Mormont and Illyrio and the episode ends before Viserys can be “crowned”.

@WinterIsComing: the script draft that I have is 60 pages plus a cover. Very little was cut from the Winterfell in terms of content. This adaptation manages to be both very faithful and very skillful by way of inserting information into dialogue and setting. We still see Jon Snow and Tyrion’s interaction outside the banquet, Catelyn scolding Bran about his climbing, Eddard and Robert in the crypt, Eddard and Catelyn at the godswood, Robb sparring with Joffrey etc…

The Daenerys/Drogo sex scene is mostly present as well. He undresses her and we see her yield to him. End scene.

Winter Is Coming: Very interesting, if true. I have no reason to believe the poster would be lying. Having worked for a time in the entertainment industry, I know that it is surprisingly easy to get a hold of scripts. Having 60 pages include all this action and dialogue is quite a feat. Benioff and Weiss are both excellent writers, so I have faith they have done a great job. And Martin himself has voiced his approval on the script as well, so all in all, I would say this pilot is shaping up to be a doozy.
