Production busy looking for actors and crew
It appears pre-production is in full swing for Game of Thrones. Two tweets yesterday from people looking to get work on the first season. The first one came from Jared Hoy, who tweeted:
Thrones interview went great! Only hang up they had was my age. Hope I sold em on ability!
He added that he is trying to get a gaffing/lighting position on the crew and that this was a preliminary phone interview and that if he makes it to the next round of interviews they would fly him to Ireland for a sit down interview.
Secondly, Georgian (the country, not the U.S. state) actress Elena Satine tweeted:
Managed to NOT mess up any words in my Game of Thornes audition today…phew.
Lastly, Extras NI sent this blurb out to all their members, encouraging them to get hairy!
So all that’s left for you to do is just sit tight and wait for the phone to ring. And if you’ve heard in the press about the forthcoming productions this year – our advice is to start getting HAIRY & TIMELESS LOOKING!!! Avoid getting modern haircuts and highlighted or dyed hair – and for the men in particular – if you can, please grow your hair and your beards – and be prepared to keep them long and your personal look timeless until Jan 2011!
Winter Is Coming: Good to see things are moving along. They only have a few months to go, so I’m sure this is going to be a crazy busy time for Benioff & Weiss. Couple observations: I’m surprised they are looking for technical crew from the US. I was under the assumption that all of the technical crew would be based in Northern Ireland. Also, I wonder what role Satine is auditioning for? The first thing that jumps to mind is Dany, which would help confirm the recasting rumors, but she looks a little too old for me. Shae might be a good fit though.
As an interesting fact, the commenter Leah discovered that Elena Satine is going to star in the upcoming Poirot TV movie Murder on the Orient Express alongside Joseph Mawle, who as we know landed the role of Benjen Stark in Game of Thrones.
