Press clippings: LA Times and PlayStation mag

Two mentions of Game of Thrones in the press recently. First was over at the Los Angeles Times blog ShowTracker where they highlighted GRRM’s interview with Mo Ryan. They pull some quotes from the interview and reference the buzz and the passionate fan base surrounding the project.

Second mention was in PlayStation The Official Magazine. In the June 2010 issue, in a section entitled Et Cetera, they have this short blurb about Thrones.

Winter is coming and Roger’s stocking up on knight’s gear and thermal undies. HBO’s green-lighting of a 10-episode adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones might finally get him out of his Battlestar-Galactica’s-over funk. But it’ll be a long, hard winter before the series debuts next spring.

Winter Is Coming: Good to see the buzz is still going strong, despite the lack of any big news recently. I think the PS Mag mention is the first time Thrones has been mentioned in the press outside of a TV-focused site, blog, magazine, etc. As an aside, HBO really needs to release a new promo image. I’m getting tired of seeing Will on horseback in every Thrones-related press piece.
