More actors, more auditions
As we roll on into June, the auditions for season one of Game of Thrones continue.
First, there is a rumor that Lucy Cohu is up for the role of Lysa Arryn. Cohu is an International Emmy award-winning actress that has appeared in a number of popular British TV series’ such as The Bill, Cape Wrath, and Torchwood. She has also been cast by Nina Gold before in Einstein and Eddington.
Winter Is Coming: Now this rumor comes from an anonymous commenter so I’d take it with a big grain of salt. But if it is true, then the fact that the production is looking at this sort of talent for a role like Lysa is a good sign.
Secondly, a tweet from Irish actor Steve Wilson indicates he recently read for three roles, including Jory Cassel and Shagga. Wilson had a recurring role in Irish drama Legend and, more recently, appeared in Showtime’s The Tudors.
Winter Is Coming: He looks more like a Jory than a Shagga to me. But the most interesting thing to come out of this is that we now have confirmation the mountain clans are in the show and that Shagga, at the very least, will have some lines.
UPDATE: One more to add to the list, 10-year-old Ryan Quartley is apparently auditioning for Thrones, according to this tweet. Mycah perhaps?
UPDATE: Another actress that audioned for Doreah, Katarina Gellin. This according to her Twitter and a comment on GRRM’s Not A Blog. [Thanks to Phoenix_torn and The_Rabbit for this info!]
