Quick hits: Paperbacks and horsebacks

A couple Game of Thrones related notes this morning:

  • Bantam Spectra’s parent company, Random House, have released their publishing plans (beware of the 160MB pdf!) for spring of 2011 and within the document is a listing for a paperback reprint of A Game of Thrones. The planned reprint first popped up over at Amazon and was speculated to be a release set to tie-in with the HBO series. Now it is confirmed. The book is scheduled to be released as both trade and mass-market paperback on Feb. 22, 2011 and will feature artwork from HBO’s Game of Thrones.
  • From paperbacks to horsebacks, it seems that equestrian training has begun for our Knight of Flowers, Finn Jones. He tweets, “first day horse riding. Nay.” and adds a few hours later, “woah that was cool, my legs are now jelly. same again 2morro. Nay.” I suspect things will get even tougher for him once they add full-plate armor and a lance to the mix. Good luck Ser Loras!
  • Forgot to mention this, Adam Whitehead has started a Game of Thrones focused Wiki at Wikia.com. Unlike other ASOIAF-centered wikis, this one focuses only on the HBO series. If you feel so inclined, you are welcome to chip in as an editor. And be sure to check out the exhaustive production timeline. For those who’ve only recently became aware of Thrones, it is a good place to catch up on all the news and for those who’ve been following the production since the beginning, it is a fun trip down memory lane!
