GRRM gives us new clues: Shae, Doreah, and Irri cast

So we don’t get too down about the recasting news (see the post below), Martin has given us new clues to puzzle over in his latest Not A Blog entry … and he’s certainly not making them any easier. Here they are:

Big brother’s gift is the sexiest female. The sellsword’s gift is like cherry cola. Take twelve steps to big brother’s gift. No, no, the other one. Big brother’s gift is not the sexiest female. The sellsword’s gift was shopping when they found her. Big brother’s gift has known a lot of ups and downs. No, no, the other one. Big brother’s gift is a friend of the kraken’s sister. The sellsword’s gift once won a deer. Big brother’s gift came from the great white north to the land of oak and hollies, where she was the sexiest female, sometimes. Yes, that one, The sellsword’s gift tackles life head on. Big brother’s gift gets a F. No, no, the other one. Controversy and the sellsword’s gift are no strangers. All the gifts are hot, hot, hot… but that’s not a clue, just a comment.

Winter Is Coming: Wow, at first glance, this one seems very confusing. I’ve learned not to doubt you guys, though. Have at it!

UPDATE: GRRM has confirmed that Roxanne McKee (photo to the left) has been cast in the role of Doreah. Congrats to Vog on getting this one first!

UPDATE: GRRM now confirms that Sibel Kekilli (photo to the right) will be playing the part of Shae. Nice job by Tysnow for figuring out this one!

UPDATE: Looks like Amrita Acharia (photo to the left) has been cast as Irri and was the third actress that GRRM was hinting at, at least according to her Spotlight profile. Good job by Woodwynd for connecting the dots first. Still awaiting confirmation from Martin.

UPDATE: And Martin has confirmed it! Great job everyone! (P.S. If you are wondering about Jhiqui, another of Dany’s handmaidens, the word from GRRM is that she does not have any lines in the series.)
