MGoT update: Cogman talks Castle Black

A new update at Making Game of Thrones, this one a post from Bryan Cogman reporting on some of the filming on the Castle Black set at Magheramorne quarry. Here is an excerpt:

While Brandon the Builder is no longer with us, we are fortunate to have Gemma Jackson and the stalwart GoT crew, who have built a large section of Castle Black here at Magheramorne Quarry, just a few minutes north of Belfast. It’s a composite set, with exteriors and interiors. The courtyard. The ravenry. The mess hall. The barracks chamber. Even a working elevator that climbs up the quarry wall. It’s all here.

Winter Is Coming: Good to hear from Bryan again. It sounds like the Castle Black set is pretty big. I still wonder if they have used it for anything other than Castle Black scenes, as the interiors especially could probably double as any sort of castle interior.
