Filming: what we know so far, part II
A little over two months ago I did a compilation of everything we knew about the filming plans for Game of Thrones which included speculation for the block one filming schedule.
Assuming they are still following the three block schedule, it seems likely they have begun, or will soon be, filming block two. It seems Brian Kirk directed all of the stuff shot in the first block, which included episodes 3, 4, 5 and some of the reshot pilot. My guess is the other three directors (Van Patten, Minahan, Taylor) will take over for these next two blocks.
Speculative Block 2 filming schedule
Late Sept-Oct: Filming in Mdina (King’s Landing scenes)
Early Oct: Castle Black scenes
Late Oct: Filming Syrio scenes
Early Nov: Filming Osha intro scene
Locations: Mdina, Cairncastle, Saintfield, Glens of Antrim, Magheramorne, Tollymore, Paint Hall
Again, I will try to keep this post updated as we find out more. It’s getting harder and harder to track all the little bits of filming info, so if I missed anything, let me know.
