Coverage of HBO’s upcoming TCA press event
With HBO’s press event for the Television Critics Association Winter 2011 Press Tour only days away, I wanted to give everyone a heads-up on what kind of coverage you can expect from Winter Is Coming. As many of you know, I will be traveling to LA to attend HBO’s 3-hour press conference. The conference, which is scheduled to start at 3 PM PST/6 PM EST on Friday, Jan 7th, will include a 30-minute Game Of Thrones panel with George R. R. Martin, David Benioff, DB Weiss, Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage and Emilia Clarke as the scheduled panelists. Of course, HBO execs will be present as well to provide their thoughts on the series.
As to the coverage of the panel, both myself and Fire And Blood will be in attendance. I plan to live-tweet all of the major developments and FaB will be documenting everything from the conference for a full-report to be published later. Want to follow along with the live updates but don’t have a Twitter account? No problem. We will be using Cover It Live to stream ALL of my tweets and other relevant tweets and updates as they happen from the event, right here on the site. Hear Me Roar will be monitoring the CiL feed and users are encouraged to join in the discussion there to provide real-time reaction from the fans.
I’ve been told the panel will include a Q&A period, so hopefully we will get a chance to ask a question or two. If you have any questions for the panelists, post them below and we’ll see if we can get answers to some of them. There is a chance we may get some face time with some members of the panel, and if that happens we will have a much better opportunity to get some of our questions answered.
Either way, there should be lots of great info to come out of the event and we will be there LIVE providing you all the latest Thrones news!
UPDATE: Two more Thrones media events have been announced by HBO. First is a 15-minute sneak peek at Game Of Thrones that will happen on Thursday at 9:30 PM PST. The other is two 25-minute roundtable discussions, one with GRRM and one with Benioff & Weiss, that will occur on Friday at 12:45 PM PST. We will be attending both events and will provide full reports, and maybe some live-tweeting, if possible.
