SPOILER WARNING: Let’s get this out of the way right now. The following post will contain very large spoilers for A Game of Thrones. Click through to the full post or the linked articles, ONLY if you have read all of the first book.

There are a lot of great moments in A Game of Thrones. Getting to see these moments play out on screen in front of us is going to be amazing. Both Ology and MTV Geek have given their top moments that they can’t wait to see in Game of Thrones, and that has inspired me to do the same. Click through to read my list and then head to the comments to add your most anticipated moments.

5. “The things I do for love” – I’ll include this one on the list, even though I already got to see it (I know, I know, I can feel your jealousy and envy through the screen). It is such a pivotal moment, the moment that caused any one reading the book for the first time to sit up and go, “Woah. That was unexpected.” The moment you might have realized these books were different than other fantasy books. As I said, I saw parts of this scene already, but I really can’t wait to see the whole thing in the context of the show to experience its full impact.

4. Syrio’s Last(?) Stand – After watching the clips of Syrio training Arya, I got really excited to see what Buster Reeves and team have in store for when Syrio busts out his real moves on a bunch of Lannister guardsmen. This scene not only promises to have some cool combat, but stands to pack an emotional punch as well, as Syrio seemingly sacrifices himself to save Arya. Not only that but this will be our good friend Miltos Yerolemou’s chance to really shine. Go Miltos!

3. Ned’s Execution – The game changer. The moment when the non-book reading audience will just stare, mouths agape, at their television in disbelief. (Provided Sean Bean doesn’t spoil everything for them first). You just don’t do that. You don’t kill off your main character. And certainly not after it looks like he will be able to get out of sticky situation and reunite with another main character. Even though I’m expecting it, the absolute shock of this scene should still come through.

2. The Dragons are Born – The culmination of Daenarys’ storyline stands to be one of the most epic scenes in the whole first season. Just when all hope seems to be lost for the young khaleesi, she does the unexpected, walking into the flames, and completes her journey from young girl to strong woman. She loses her son, her husband and half her khalasar in the process, but she gains dragons.

1. King in the North – My absolute favorite moment from A Game of Thrones. Many will probably disagree with me here, but for some reason I really connected with Robb. When he won his decisive victory at Whispering Wood and his men all pledged their undying support for the Young Wolf, I was pumped. Hearing the chant of “King in the North! King in the North!” playing in my head was awesome. I can’t wait to see what it will be like playing out on screen in front of me.

So those are the moments I am most looking forward to seeing in Game of Thrones. What about you? What moments from A Game of Thrones are you most anxious to see on HBO in a couple months?
