More possible locations for season two
David Benioff was featured in a recent article in his alma mater’s school newspaper, The Dartmouth. It is a good article, and well worth a read, but the interesting info revealed in the piece is that Benioff traveled to Croatia and Spain in late April to scout locations for season two of Game of Thrones. Croatia has already been mentioned before, but Spain is a new location possibility. All the locations that have rumored or reported to have been scouted now include Iceland, Morocco, Croatia, Turkey, and Spain.
Winter Is Coming: It’s clear now, if it wasn’t already, that HBO plans to add at least one more filming location this year. I have heard that Malta is likely to still be used as a location, and Northern Ireland is all but officially confirmed, so it seems they will be adding one more country to that roster. Filming in three separate countries for a TV series, is this a first?
And what does everyone think they are looking for while scouting these new locations? Some new regions that will be visited in season two include Dragonstone, the Iron Islands, the Red Waste, and the Riverlands. Which of these countries do you think would work best to fill-in for these Westeros/Essos locations?
