Ratings dip in US, rise in UK
James Hibberd reports that the ratings for Game of Thrones have dipped for the first time in the US. Here are the numbers:
Thanks for reminding me, Twitter followers: Game of Thrones ratings are in. But they went down a tick for the first time, with Sunday night’s premiere slipping a tad.
The 9 p.m. airing delivered 2.4 million (compared to last week’s 2.6 million). Most of the difference was picked up during the encore airing, with the night’s total at 3.2 million (compared to last week’s 3.3 million).
In the UK, initial viewer numbers have risen again, up to 626k this week. The overall viewer totals have fallen a bit for previous episodes though, with episode 4 checking in at 1.32 million, compared to 1.59 million for episode 3.
Winter Is Coming: Well, we really suck at predicting ratings, don’t we? Every week so far we had been predicting a fall and they either rose or stayed the same. This week everyone was predicting another rise and they fall for the first time. I’m not worried though. The overall total shows only a very small dip; one that can easily be made up as the season rolls on to its conclusion.
