TITANCON: Season Two panel

Otherwise known as the “Exercise in Saying Nothing at All” panel. Or the “Working with Awkward Pauses” panel.

Honestly, I’m surprised they had this panel in the first place, knowing how little could be answered. But hey—any excuse for a panel. I personally just love to see the cast together and talking.

Or… not talking. As seemed to be the case. As with the last one, this panel was moderated by “Paddy wagon” Peadar Ó Guilín, and included “Colossal” Kristian Nairn (Hodor), “Wallopin’ Bob” William Simpson (conception and storyboard artist), “Magnificent” Miltos Yerolemou (Syrio Forel), “Seraphic” Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), “Amazin'” Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), “Kick ’em inna teeth” Callum Wharry (Prince Tommen), and “Arsenal” Art Parkinson (Rickon Stark).

Full disclosure: I was not on hand for a large part of this panel, so I must give full thanks to DocFourFour, our very own beloved Rimshot, who provided the coverage and put it on You Tube.

The lead-in question to the first part of the panel was something akin to, “Who do you get along well with on the show that you don’t generally work with?” At least that’s my guess. (If anyone remembers differently, let us know!)

HmR: My memory tells me the question also contained a subclause on who of the cast the young’uns seek to get advice from.

Fire And Blood: Once you get past the “umm, err” parts, there’s actually some pretty good stuff here. William Simpson especially; it makes me grin to see a concept and design artist this stoked about the show’s quality. You can see it in nearly all of them. This sort of “You just wait and see what we have in store for you!” confidence that’s infectious. I love it.

Hear Me Roar: Right, there was another panel, with the same array of guests. Nominally, it focused on the adaptation of the books to screen, but the themes, same as with other panels, organically bled into each other. Unfortunately, our camera batteries ran out by then, and needed a nap, much like Pod (the original specimen from Dublin):

As Jackie said in the comments: It’s better to get yourself to Titancon. We don’t have a video of that particular subevent, and the numerous panels are all a blur. If anyone volunteers some footage or remembers the highlights, we will happily publish them.
