Ireland filming prepares to wrap

It’s all starting to wind down. As filming for season 2 of Game of Thrones revs up for its chilly adventure in Iceland, it shifts down a notch (or three) in Northern Ireland, where only a handful of scenes are rumored to be left.

Okay, that’s not really news. But it’s a great excuse, in lieu of actual set pictures, to run this sweet little pic of Robb and Jeyne—ah, I mean, Richard Madden and Oona Chaplin!

Ain’t they cute?

Oona’s part is done, at least. She posted the above pic on her Twitter account following this tweet:

Wrapped on game of thrones tonight. Sad face… Happy face however at the thought of next year. Bring. It. On. NOW!!

Oona also gave us the briefest worry a day earlier by tweeting a picture of someone with a broken hand. Come to find out it wasn’t her—and wasn’t even something that slowed down production. (What can we say, we’re production obsessed!)

She toys with us! Tricksy!

Fire And Blood: Hey, that picture is the closest thing we’ve gotten to an actual set pic with actual Game of Thrones characters, so I’ll take it. (Shame on you, MGoT!) And finishing the Northern Ireland stuff is a big deal, as Belfast is the defunct home of ‘Thrones; I still remember Kristian Nairn’s heartfelt thank-you speech from TitanCon fondly. As each location wraps, I feel April of ’12 approaching in my bones, faster and faster. To echo Oona: Bring. It. On. NOW!

I like Oona. She’s neck and neck with Finn Jones with regard to giving us tiny glimpses into production, so I think of her fondly—sort of like our adorable little actress-mascot who’s helping to give us hitherto unseen glimpses of the tale we love by taking a tiny role from our monster-sized story and making it that much bigger! Team Jeyne, anyone?
