WiCnet celebrates 3 years of Thrones news

Three years and two days ago, HBO commissioned a pilot for their television adaptation of the A Song of Ice and Fire series (the show didn’t have a title yet). A couple days later, I decided to start a blog to follow the latest news about the show. And now, exactly three years and 1,000 posts later, we’re still going strong! The show has turned into a huge hit with audiences and critics alike and it doesn’t look like it will be going away any time soon. And neither will we!

I want to thank Fire and Blood and Hear Me Roar for all their hard work in helping me keep this site updated. You guys do a fantastic job. And a thank you to HBO for treating us as a legit news site, on par with Entertainment Weekly or The Hollywood Reporter, by giving us screeners and exclusives and other neat perks. It was very unexpected, but very appreciated. And a big thanks to George R. R. Martin for not only linking to us on his blog and web site, but even including us in his dedication of A Dance with Dragons. Very flattering, to be listed amongst those great ASOIAF fans and sites. But most of all, thanks to you guys, the readers and commenters, for making this site as great a community as it is. Yeah, we have our moments of nitpicking and intense debate over trivial matters, but for the most part, I feel we are a very positive community that is united by a common theme: we love Game of Thrones.

So here is to another year of Thrones news and rumors!
