New location details for Croatia and Morocco

A report in the Dubrovnik Times confirms that the “old city” section of Dubrovnik will once again stand in for King’s Landing, and that the Arboretum located in Trsteno, Croatia, will also be used as a location for season 3.

According to the Dubrovnik Times, “it is not yet known which role the historic arboretum will play. Trsteno is located around 30 kilometres north of Dubrovnik and was founded in the 15th century making it one of the oldest arboretums in Europe.”

They also note that “it is believed that filming will start much later than last year, probably in late September and early October and will last a little shorter than for the second series.”

In other location news, WiC commenter Lex attended George R. R. Martin’s reading in Seattle yesterday and has news about Morocco. The author confirmed that the location in Morocco is indeed being used for Daenerys Slaver’s Bay scenes, as many had suspected.

Ours is the Fury: The Arboretum location is gorgeous. What scenes do you think it will be used for in season 3?
