Premiere Day Roundup

Just look at that countdown clock! There’s less than 10 hours right now until the season 4 premiere of Game of Thrones, and I hardly know what to do with myself. I hope everyone has their party preparations in order because it’s the final countdown.

While you’re waiting, here are some pieces from around the net to enjoy:

  • Entertainment Weekly has provided an interactive map loaded with useful info about the world of Game of Thrones to help viewers catch up. Find out which characters are in that region at that moment, and what’s in store for them this season, based on previews.
  • George R.R. Martin stopped by Saturday Night Live Weekend Update last night – well, Bobby Moynihan playing Martin, actually, lamenting the real cause of his writing delays. Check out the video on Hulu or NBC.com.
  • Lena Headey says that Cersei and Jaime’s romantic relationship is “changed beyond repair,” in an insightful interview with EW. She sees her character’s envy of her brother as the source of the issue. “She believes he can protect her and do what she’s not allowed to as a woman. So, I think when he returns with [his sword hand having been cut off], she’s like: That’s the thing I didn’t have and now you now don’t have it so what do I want you for?“
  • If you’re looking to do something special at your premiere viewing party tonight, check out this Direwolf Cupcakes recipe from InnattheCrossroads.com. Personally, I’d do a version with Robb Stark’s body attached, but that’s just me.
  • Last but not least, here’s a beautiful performance of the Game of Thrones opening theme by the New York Philharmonic, conducted by Ramin Djawadi himself at Lincoln Center in New York City on March 18th.

Ours is the Fury:  Is everyone ready for the show tonight? I’m getting revved up listening to various renditions of the main theme on youtube.
