Weapons of Westeros: Needle

“Winter is Coming Live” chat “Maester” Bryan Forrest is what you could call a Westeros weapons expert and he’s a guy you want on your side as you try to take the Iron Throne. Each week Bryan will be discussing the different weaponry used in HBO’s original series Game of Thrones and this week he digs into the history and the story behind Arya Stark’s sword, Needle.

She’s one of the more interesting characters to watch develop on Game of Thrones and part of what makes Arya such an intriguing character is how she can be so tough and so confident while carrying such a little sword. But once you learn the history behind the blade, you begin to understand why it means so much to her and why it’s the weapon she wants to exact her revenge with.
