Game of Thrones Fans Survive the Realm at San Diego Comic-Con
This weekend, fans have the chance to see what it was like to Survive the Realm of Game of Thrones at San Diego Comic-Con. Running through Sunday, the experience features a mini exhibition including authentic costumes, props, and the Irone Throne, as well as free GoT inspired tattoos, interactive selfie opportunities with Drogon, and the all too famous Climbing the Wall “Virtual Reality” experience.
Step inside to see what we discovered from the first day!
An army of fans made it out to experience the exhibit today, and forever marked themselves with the Game of Thrones fandom…literally.
If you happen to be a lucky fan at the San Diego Comic-Con, the exhibit is located at 628 L Street, San Diego, CA, 92101.

This seems like it is a spectacular experience, with a lot of fun and interactive activities to do. A true treat for the biggest of Game of Thrones fans!
Just incase you were wondering what you missed yesterday, or would like a break down of what Game of Thrones related events are still to come, here you go!
Thursday:
Today, George R. R. Martin Spoke about his new comic book series In the House of Worm. This panel was moderated by William Christiansen, and Collider has a great recap.
Nerdist Science editor Kyle Hill and a panel of of scientists, writers, and engineers provided an inside look at the science hidden within the realm of Game of Thrones.
Friday:
The BIG DAY! HBO’s Game of Thrones panel is tomorrow, which is sure to be filled with some eager and question hungry fans. This will be a Q&A session featuring some of our favorite cast members from the show including Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Jaime Lannister, and of course one of the big fan favorites, Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell).
Tess Fowler, writer/Illustrator for Game of Thrones, will be featured on a panel titled Women Below the Line. The panel will discuss women in non-traditional roles, such as illustration, creature creation, prop making, etc, and how to become successful and fulfill your dreams in the varying industries.
Saturday:
Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) will be on the TV Guide Magazine: Fan Favorites panel along with a few other big names from television. This panel will discuss some of TV’s hottest shows, and some of the behind the scenes action that goes on. Way to go Gwendoline!
Game of Thrones will be discussed on the the Lost Podcast and Beyond panel, as it has been one of the few truly outstanding shows that has filled a gaping hole for a lot of Lost fans. The hosts of the show, Jay and Jack, have been attending SDCC for 8 years now.
Maisie Williams and Natalie Dormer are also featured in a panel for Entertainment Weekly called Women Who Kick Ass. As both actresses are ass kickers in their own right, they will be joined by a couple more ass kicking women who turn down for no man. This is one of the panels I can’t wait to see coverage from.
George R. R. Martin will be a very busy man at this San Diego Comic-Con, as he will be featured in another panel surrounding authors who are responsible for helping to push the fantasy genre into the mainstream. He is joined by the Rulers of the Realm to discuss the changes in the fantasy genre as time has moved on, and the impact it has had on their lives.
All information was gathered from the official SDCC website.
Looks like Friday and Saturday are the days to be there for the convention. If I had to pick to additional panels aside from the main Q&A, I would say the Women Who Kick Ass panel, and the Rulers of the Realm panel are ones to watch. Maisie and Natalie are two of my favorite actors on the show, and bring great power to their characters. I’d also like to see George and other successful authors discuss their work together, as I think it will be a unique experience.
Please keep an eye out today for our live coverage of the Game of Thrones panel. Our Zack Luye is going to be present (lucky dog) to bring WiC all sorts of goodies.
If you have any stories or things you would love to share about SDCC please tweet me @WiCThoros or email me at [email protected].
Have fun and enjoy a FANtastic weekend!
