Jaime Lannister Dressing Like A Dornishman For Season 5
I said this morning, all I needed was to see Alexander Siddig in costume and my life would be complete. Take me now. (Though I am guessing Prince Doran is barefoot on screen. Somehow I don’t think those green and yellow flip flops are part of the costume design.) Still, it is everything I was hoping for. Oberyn’s look, writ older and glamorous.
But that’s not actually the big spoiler in this post. Below, we have a very important question. Is Cersei’s other half going native?
As I said in yesterday’s post, it looked from the footage of Trystane that the design of the Martell outfits would be based on the sort of thing we saw Oberyn in last year. But I never expected to see Jaime Lannister in such an outfit. The following pictures are from inside the locked down Sevilla filming, and were gotten by TV network CANAL+ España. All pictures are via the Juego de Tronos Facebook page.

It really is Oberyn’s look, down to the full skirt. This also has a great shot of the gold hand. Jaime looks kinda uncomfortable in this get up, doesn’t he? Love the bead detail.
Turns out mourning looks really good on Ellaria. It’s also good to see that, despite Oberyn’s being wrong about what day he died, Ellaria was also wrong that without him she was nothing. I was worried she’d lose her home and her creature comforts. She even got to keep her modern day hairdresser.
We’ve seen Ellaria with Areo in yesterday’s post, prior to filming. So it makes sense he is also in this scene. This gives up another great look at his costume.
As for which scene this is–that spoiler is below.
Yes, that really does say what you think it says. This is from Episode 9, which is typically when the big dramatic moments of the show peak. We can also confirm that by noting the director in the slate is David Nutter, who, as we previously reported, is directing both episodes nine and ten this season.
Though he’s not in the set shots, Siddig is clearly on set and in costume for this, so we can guess he’s probably part of whatever is happening in Dorne in Episode 9.
