Game Of Thrones actors in new John Hawkes, Elle Fanning film

Game of Thrones actors keep busy when they’re not flying out to historic locations to film the series. Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage in particular have time-traveled to the 1970s in an upcoming film, Low Down, premiering in New York this Friday. Find out more and watch the trailer after the jump…

The film is based on the memoir by Amy-Jo Albany (played by Elle Fanning), daughter of famous jazz pianist Joe Albany (John Hawkes). The official description promises “a compassionate, tender look at [their] complex relationship” and the trailer certainly seems to capture that feeling, as well as the “sensuously textured 1970s Hollywood” setting. Lena Headey plays Amy-Jo’s mom Sheila (sadly, Amy-Jo is not the savior of humanity in a future ruled by machines, though at least she’s not a budding teenage tyrant) while Peter Dinklage portrays a character called Alain. Incidentally, Burn Gorman, traitor to the Night’s Watch, is also in the film, doing Burn Gorman-y things. So if you’re looking to explore the filmography of the Thrones cast, here’s a trifecta just for you. The film opens in theaters Friday, October 24th.
