Game Of Thrones returns to Littlefinger’s big brothel

According to Making Game of Thrones, the production will not be giving up its philandering ways for Season 5. A city still needs a brothel, and the show may still need its sexposition.

Apparently they don’t need protection though.

Set discussions involve how many “naughties” should be arrayed across a couch versus how many on the floor. And whether we shouldn’t see some period-appropriate prophylactics on hand (in a manner of speaking). Namely, sheep bladders or sheepskin sheaths. Sadly, our props department doesn’t keep any of those in stock.

Personally, I would be more concerned about protection against spies working for the competition.

The question for me is: why are we returning to Littlefinger’s brothel? After all, at this point, most of his best customers from the previous seasons have exited the show in all sort of creative manners, or at least King’s Landing.

Well, since Littlefinger himself will be returning to King’s Landing this season, it only makes sense we’ll be visiting his place of business. Exactly what he’s doing there, we speculated about here. But the reveal that we will be visiting his brothel during the run suggests that he’ll be a major player for Season 5.

And there’s also news customers arriving in the city daily. Exactly who,we’ll have to wait and see. But that should be plenty of new opportunities to rectify something that apparently has been bothering Natalie Dormer. In an interview with The Daily Beast, the actress agreed that the sexism charges leveled against the show could be aided with the addition of one thing.

Speaking of “equality,” I understand HBO has a “boobs mandate,” but lots of viewers of Thrones think the show could use some more dick in there—for symmetry.

Well, during the first season Alfie, Richard, and several of the men got naked—although not all the way. I suppose it’s just the rules of broadcast television, isn’t it? I think Thrones has been better than your average show with the equality, but they could definitely ramp it up! Absolutely.

Do we think a few extra shots of male nudity is really all it takes to solve Game of Thrones‘ reputation as being exploitative of women? I’m less convinced. But it sounds like the show might be planning to have more of them on display, if the producers are discussing whether or not they should be wrapping them up.
