Michelle MacLaren to direct Wonder Woman; Robb Stark is Prince Charming

Hollywood continues to snatch up the talented Thrones cast and crew, and today brought some pretty fantastic news. After previously hinting that Michelle MacLaren was back on the shortlist, The Hollywood Reporter officially confirms that television director Michelle MacLaren will be directing and developing Warner Bros. and DC Comics’ Wonder Woman film. She’ll be working to develop the film alongside producers Zak and Deborah Snyder, producers of Watchmen and 300. MacLaren herself is well-known for her work on Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead; she also directed “The Bear and the Maiden Fair”, “Second Sons”, “Oathkeeper” and “First of His Name” for seasons 3 and 4 of Game of Thrones. She’s an excellent pick; I wish her the best of luck.

Wonder Woman won’t be out until 2017, but in the meantime, Robb Stark is getting a second shot at love…

Disney recently premiered the full-length trailer for their upcoming live-action adaptation of Cinderella. Richard Madden is taking on the mantle of Prince Charming, alongside Lily James as the titular Disney Princess, Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother (bizarrely appropriate?) and a veritable who’s-who of Britain-based actors from Cate Blanchett and Derek Jacobi to Hayley Atwell and Sophie McShera in various other recognizable roles from Disney’s classic animated film. Cinderella is directed by Kenneth Branagh and is scheduled to hit theaters in March 2015.
