A Game of Thrones Gift Guide: Odds and Ends

It’s time for our final installment of the Game of Thrones gift guide. Last week we looked at clothing and accessories, and before that, throwing a holiday party. Today we’re looking at those items that are the odds and ends of gift giving. To me, these are the best kind of gifts–the sort of thing a GoT fan might not buy for themselves but would love to have, and use with pride.

Let’s start with the above mug set from LoveToastShop, perfect for the couple who both love the show. For a single person, there’s a Khaleesi’s command, or if you’re a little less respectful, you might go for the Crows Before Hoes mug. And if you know any knitters/crocheters, you won’t go wrong with the reminder that Winter Is Coming.

There are plenty of dragon eggs floating around Etsy for those who want to consider into building bonfires to see if they’ll hatch. Unfortunately these polymer clay ones will melt. If you’re looking for something softer, these cuddly plush toy versions are perfect for your wannabe Khaleesi friend to snuggle with on the couch instead.

Speaking of cuddly–there’s plenty of throw pillows on Etsy as well. My personal favorite is this map of Westeros and the Essos coast. If you’re more the inspirational quote type, you can go for one of Dany’s declarations. For those who know which House they support, you can always get one with a House sigil or if you want to be able to claim victory no matter who wins, you can get one with all of them. Or if you’re really weird, you can get your own huggable Joffrey. (Also works for punching in the face.)

For the Book Nerd in your life, there’s the Book Purse. Handy dandy for carrying personal items, and just realistic enough to confuse the average passerby. If they’re in school, or need a slightly bigger carryall, there’s messenger bags with House sigils. And for the special event that requires a high end bag, only Golden Dragon Eggs will do.

We use technology are we use it to tell the world our tastes. So of course, there are Game of Thrones themed phone cases. Most of them seem to skew House Stark (The best is above.) There are a few map ones–this one showing which House rules what lands is a favorite, and handy when the Unspoiled ask questions. And for your brother in the Night’s Watch, there’s one that will remind him of his vow every time that wildling girl texts him.

On the topic of decorating your technology, there’s decals for your laptop. Again, Stark seems to be the favorite here, both for laptops and car decals. Targaryen runs a close second. The dragon decals sized for your wall are also very impressive.

There are tons of wall options, from posters to framed art. I personally covet these House sigils on blown up pages from “Readings in Western Civilization.” But if that’s too pretentious, there’s show quotes, stylized art, maps–I love the Westerosi Transit System, so clever. There’s Recruitment posters, All the Houses of Westeros, and a reminder of what we say to Death.

Plus there’s wall plates….

…and finally there’s making sure people can find their way to your House and back to their own kingdoms at the end of the night. That’s where these handy dandy signs from ForrestFolk come in. Just in case your guests have drunk too much strong wine and feel like heading off to be gutted by a boar, they’ll know which way to go.
