Thoros taking his Red God powers to the TARDIS

All men must die in Westeros, but it seems like once they do, they just parlay it into a new life in another nerd-verse.

Paul Kaye, who once wielded the powers of the Red God as Thoros of Myr, has found himself in the Whoniverse. According to reports, he is set to guest star in series Nine of Doctor Who, along side Peter Capaldi’s fabulous 12th Doctor and returning companion Jenna Louis Coleman.

Though Kaye is best known int he US for his role in Game of Thrones, over in the UK, he’s actually a bit more of a household name for his turn in the mid 90s as Dennis Pennis. I suppose riding about in the TARDIS is a decent upgrade to wandering around the burnt countryside north of King’s Landing now that Arya has moved on from that storyline. It’s further bad news for those expecting more Thoros and the Brotherhood without Banners, along with a certain Lady, in Season 5.

Meanwhile, another Game of Thrones alum is also set to land on his feet. Ed Skrein, who you might remember once played Daario, until he was unceremoniously dumped for someone who looked a little better when Dany ordered him to strip. According to reports from the world of Marvel (FOX owned division, not the MCU), the long awaited, finally green lit Deadpool movie is actively courting Dany’s old beau. Not that she would recognize him now, with a shaved head from his turn in The Transporter Legacy and a creepy smile. It’s no wonder the plan is to have him play the movie’s bad guy. But then again, considering that when we last left the Queen of Meereen she was making all sorts of bad decisions, she might just add him to the list.
