Check out these impressive Game of Thrones-inspired photo portraits

I’m always amazed at how artistic endeavors can be inspired by something as simple as an aesthetic. So it’s not surprising that I was blown away when I saw these Thrones-inspired photo portraits posted by Flickr user rodrigocapuski. (Hat tip to Reddit user capsuki for throwing it up on the Thrones subreddit.) Each photo is titled according to its related concept–for example, the one above is entitled “The Real North – Wildlings” and the picture attempts to capture both the feeling of being Beyond the Wall and the essence of the wildlings. (This woman is very Rose Leslie-esque, I think.) I highly recommend checking out the full album; glimpse a few more stunners after the jump…

I like this one, descriptively titled “People of Qarth – Southern coast of Essos”, because of the way the background landscape hints at the titular city.

“Lannister of Casterly Rock.” There’s a pretty fair resemblance to Lena Headey’s Cersei here.

This one is exquisite. It’s called “The Old Targaryen Kings”; notice the three-headed dragon on the hilt. Undoubtedly a Targaryen portrait with more of the banner colors would be a cool followup. Maybe one inspired by the Mother of Dragons? This one also feels the most “portrait-like” to me; even though all the subjects in these photos are clearly posing, this one, with the plain black background, suggests a more deliberate attempt at celebrating a dynasty in visual form.
