Dark Horse honors the Mother of Dragons

One of Season 4’s iconic moments saw Daenerys Targaryen chilling out on a rock with her ever-growing dragon children, as she realized that, after raising them from hatchlings, she had little control over them now.

It’s such a striking moment that it’s no wonder Dark Horse has chosen to capture it with their latest statue release “Dany and Drogon.” Picture below….

This image, from MTVNews, was released yesterday along with the details:

The statue, measuring 14″ across and 18″ from front to back, is elaborately detailed and pre-painted, and it comes in a full-color, oversize collector box. You’ll have to wait until summer to purchase one of these (which has a suggested retail price of $425), but, if you happen to be attending Toy Fair 2015 in New York between February 14-17, you can head to booth #4837 to check out the prototype.

I was hoping this would come out along with the other figurines promised for March/April 2015, including Tywin Lannister, Joffrey Lannister Baratheon, and Hodor&Bran. But I suppose when you are the Queen of the Andals and Khalessi of the Great Grass Sea, other people waiting for you is just par for the course.

I do note she doesn’t seem to have accessories like the Tyrion Lannister and Ned Stark figurines do. But then again, when you have a dragon, accessories are probably unnecessary.
