IMAX unveils Robert Ball’s gorgeous posters for Game of Thrones Experience

Game of Thrones beautiful-death

If you plan on seeing Game of Thrones Season 4 episodes “The Watchers on the Wall and “The Children” at your nearest participating IMAX theater, make sure to get there on opening night (January 29 at 10pm), and be one of the lucky first 300 ticket holders, because the reward is quite simply, beautiful.

When it was announced that the IMAX Game of Thrones showings would be delayed a week, due to fan enthusiasm, it was also made known that the first 300 ticket holders would receive a commemorative Game of Thrones artwork poster from Robert Ball.

You may remember Mr. Ball from his awe-inspiring artwork in the Beautiful Death series that served as a countdown to and through Season 4. Personally, I imagined that the posters for the IMAX screenings would be something like Jon holding Ygritte’s body or Styr, Magnar of Thenn with a hammer in his head.

It turns out IMAX has officially released pictures of the two posters that will be distributed on opening night.

“The Watchers on the Wall” poster will be distributed exclusively at AMC IMAX theatres:

“The Children” poster will be distributed at all other participating IMAX theatres:

As you can see, unless you plan on cloning yourself and attending the showings at different participating IMAX theaters, then you will only get one of the two…or you could just wait until someone inevitably puts them on eBay for way too much money.

We want to hear from you. Will you be attending the IMAX Game of Thrones showings on opening night? What do you think of Robert Ball’s latest artwork? Let’s talk about it, in the comments below.
