Pixomondo reveals Game of Thrones’ dragon creation process
One of the interesting things about Game of Thrones extraordinary visual effects is how many different companies end up having a hand in the final product. We’ve posted pictures and designs from the work behind Season 4’s fantastical creations before. Pixomondo, who are part of the final step in three dimensional rendering and CGI that we see on the screen, have talked about their dragon creation before. Now they’ve released a video showing how Season 4 was done.
The video includes some of the most famous dragon scenes from last season, including Dany on the rock with Drogon while Rhaegal and Viserion fly about, Drogon rising over the sheep and goats, and Rhaegal and Viserion’s being chained at the end of the season.
Check it out after the jump….
Bonus CGI: Dead goat.
I still can’t watch that last scene without feeling really sad for the two poor dragons in chains. Even watching it with the dragons broken down into pixels. I hope Dany doesn’t leave them in there all season. Dragons should be free.
