University at Buffalo to host advance screening of Season 5 premiere
Most of us will be waiting until April 12th to watch the fifth season of Game of Thrones. But if you’re a student of the University at Buffalo in New York, then you’ve got a chance to receive a very special treat. The university’s Student Association, in conjunction with Campus Living and HBO Go, will be screening the season premiere on March 29th, a full two weeks before the worldwide premiere.
See how and why after the jump…
HBO Go has replaced UB’s previously-maintained on-demand movie service, so it makes sense that the student organizations would be able to score this exclusive premiere. (Though according to the piece, this was actually HBO’s idea. Intriguing.) It’s still a pretty big deal, though, because the lucky UB students who get to attend the screening will be able to see what the enigmatic fifth season holds in store for us long before almost anyone else. The world premiere of the season is still set for March 18th at the Tower of London.
Students living on-campus can get their tickets starting Monday, March 9th, while off-campus students will have to wait until March 23rd.
