Peter Dinklage Takes on PacMan in the new Pixels Trailer

You know the movie is an oddity when PacMan is the bad guy.

Peter Dinklage is part of the ensemble comedy cast for the movie Pixels, which is coming out this June, just after the finale of Season 5. The movie is one part comedy (It also stars Adam Sandler and Kevin James), one part alien disaster movie (because aliens come and attack earth, natch) and one part CGI eye-candy fest.

That’s because the aliens attack us with very large 8 bit classic video game characters made from gigantic pixels. Because when they got our message full of video games from 1982 they totally thought we were declaring war. Picture Donkey Kong tossing barrels down 5th Avenue of New York City while tiny humans scream and run in terror, and you’ve got something of the right idea.

Peter Dinklage only cameos for a minute in the trailer, but it was enough that I guffawed. Check it out below.

As you might note, Dinkalge’s beard is pulled down to a goatee. And is that a mullet?

I didn’t know one needed to sport 1980s hairstyles to fight 1980s video game characters, but on second thought, maybe that’s the best way to go about it. Pixels opens July 24, 2015. It will be Dinklage’s second major feature film since gaining Game of Thrones fame, after X-Men: Days of Future Past. (He’s done a lot of smaller indie stuff these last few years as well though, including Taxi, which is supposed to be released in Germany this year.)
