Game of Thrones Season 5 US Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

The US premiere of Game of Thrones Season 5 was held last night in San Francisco. The star studded event was live streamed via Facebook, and all the stars stopped by the Instagram booth to post with the FunkoPOP counterparts of their cast members.

We’ve got pictures of the red carpet action, plus what some of the cast said during their live stream interview, below!

The Red Carpet was actually black, as befitting such a dramatic scene. Think of it as the ashes of the fire, or the dried blood.

Maisie fantasized a bit about a spinoff where Arya goes off with Brienne at the end of the season and they have adventures.

Peter Dinklage did his best to avoid the crowds on the first pass of the LiveStream

But he was caught the second time through and admitted that he tears through the scripts once he gets them to see what happens next.

Sophie Turner called Dark Sansa her character’s “goth phase.”

While Aiden Gillan said that Sansa is enjoying learning what Littlefinger has to teach. (Eww.)

Emilia Clarke complained that teenage dragons are hard to manage, and she has no idea where Drogon’s run, err, flown, off too.

Kit Harington is clearly tired of being told he knows nothing. I suppose it gets to you after a while.

Gwen Christie promised Brienne would top her fight with The Hound from last season by biting off a man’s feet.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau said he’s looking forward to the new character combinations this season.

While Carice Van Houten insisted her career would be nowhere without the show.

Alfie Allen was one of the first to show up, and agreed that the interviewer should refer to his character as Reek and not Theon.

Nathalie Emmanuel finds Missandei and Greyworm’s relationship “sweet.”

No one mentioned that Michiel Huisman is Daario #2, but they did point out he was Dany’s #1.

Hannah Murray called Gilly and Sam’s relationship “unconventional.”

Jerome Flynn was another early arrival, and managed to avoid the live stream interviewers.

Liam Cunningham said he was pleased to be playing one of the very few morally upright characters in the show.

Keisha Castle-Hughes admitted that Oberyn Martell was her favorite character even before she was cast as one of his daughters.

Faceless Men don’t speak to cameras, but Tom Wlaschiha was still recognized on the carpet.

Dean Charles Chapman disappointed everyone by insisting Ser Pounce will not be back this season.

Finn Jones apparently reads the fan fiction about his character. The stories he told were…interesting, and involved pizza.

Kristian Nairn says Hodor needed the season off to rest his back.

The directors admitted that their wives insisted they leave their suits of armor at home.

George RR Martin was addressed as “The Father of Dragons.”

His big spoiler: We’ll be travelling to Casterly Rock and Highgarden in The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. Awesome!
