Game of Thrones Remixed: Save Our Sons
Sometimes Game of Thrones needs a musical element. I’m not talking about the excellently scored music from industry leaders like Ramin Djawadi and Varèse Sarabande. No, I’m talking a good old-fashioned auto-tuned musical accompaniment to Season 2, Episode 9, Blackwater. Kind of like Chicago, but with swords….and blood, and less real vocals.

Thanks to the AV Club for picking this little gem out of the abyss that is YouTube. The video was created by Youtuber melodysheep, who also has a beautiful homage to the great Robin Williams. Here’s Save Our Sons.
“I’m a free woman.”
“You’re not a free woman! You’re my prisoner, my prisoner.”
This is really delightful, and if I’m being honest, got me all hyped-up for Tyrion’s battle speech. And the hymn sang by the septas and women in the castle is actually hauntingly beautiful. Melodysheep actually has more Game of Thrones remix videos, like The Dragon’s Daughter.
“There is only one thing we say to death…and that is not today.”
I’m not usually an auto-tune kinda guy, but in this case, I am making an exception. Both of these videos were wonderful, although I definitely prefer Save Our Sons.
