Maisie Williams to Guest Star on Doctor Who
My two favorite shows merge again. Earlier this year, we reported that the late Thoros the Red Priest, aka Paul Kaye, would be taking himself to visit the good Doctor in series 9 of the long running BBC show. But now the Doctor will be having a run in with an arguably deadlier character–Arya herself.
According to the just released statement:
Having landed back in the UK fresh from touring the US, today Maisie Williams sets foot on the Doctor Who TARDIS to take up a guest role in the hit BBC One show that returns to our screens this Autumn.

Her role in the show is currently being kept under wraps, but we know the show has already filmed most of the first two episodes, so it looks like Maisie will probably be appearing towards the later half of the season.
On her first day on set Maisie Williams said, “I’m so excited to be working on Doctor Who as it’s such a big and important part of British Culture. I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.”
Steven Moffat, lead writer and Executive Producer, added, “We’re thrilled to have Maisie Williams joining us on Doctor Who. It’s not possible to say too much about who or what she’s playing, but she is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways. This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell.”
Though swapping traveling companions from the Hound to the Doctor will probably result in at least a little bit of shock–The Doctor certainly talks more than the Hound ever did–the Doctor can probably impart slightly better life lessons. After all, this is the girl who was taught to “stick them with the pointy end,” and to be a cold blooded killer by the end of last season. The Doctor, on the other hand, is famous for eschewing weaponry of all sort, preferring to carry only a helpful sonic screwdriver. Perhaps he can help Arya assemble a wardrobe for those new dresses she’s been going on about getting to wear this coming season.
