HBO will be available through Sling TV in time for the Game of Thrones premiere

And the ways to watch the new season of Game of Thrones just keep coming. According to Variety, subscribers to Sling TV will now also be able to watch the show through the over-the-top streaming platform, which has been available for just under two months.

Sling TV is a service offered by Dish Network that allows customers looking for an alternative to unwieldy cable packages to stream live TV channels directly over the Internet. Before today’s announcement, the service already came with 19 channels, including ESPN, TNT, AMC, CNN, and Cartoon Network. That package was available for $20 per month. For an extra $15 per month, customers will shortly be able to gain access to both HBO and HBO Go, which includes the network’s complete on-demand library.

There’s no word on when exactly Sling TV will offer HBO, but reports are that it will be available in advance of Game of Thrones’ fifth season premiere on April 12. It’s also worth noting that none of this has anything to do with HBO Now, HBO’s upcoming standalone service, which won’t require signing up for any TV package of any kind. That service will be offered via Apple products before April 12, and on other devices a few months later. Also, at least one traditional cable service—Cablevision—will offer the service in advance of the premiere.

If all of this talk about different services is confusing, there’s always the option of just stealing your buddy’s HBO Go password, which apparently the network is okay with anyway.
