Stannis Baratheon wins Uproxx’s March Madness tournament

In honor of March Madness, Uproxx recently held an epic tournament pitting Game of Thrones characters against each other in an exercise of supreme pointlessness. After much hemming and hawing and clicking of mouses slick with sweat, a winner has emerged. Ladies and gentlemen, the undisputed ruler of Westeros, by popular vote: Stannis Baratheon!

Now, analyzing this outcome is pretty fruitless, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done. It’s surprising to see that a lot of major players—Tyrion, Tywin, Jon Snow—were knocked out of the tournament pretty early on, and that secondary characters like Viserys and Ygritte made strong showings. The ultimate outcome, with dour Stannis Baratheon on top, is also a shock. We’re in for a lot of teeth-grinding and jaw clenching as Stannis hands down decrees executing people for jaywalking, and so forth.

Feel free to have at it in the comments over who should have won. How did Viserys manage to beat Robb? How did Viserys manage to beat anybody? With any luck, when we’re done squabbling it’ll be time for the premiere.
