Game of Thrones Season 5: Three New Promos

I was literally just saying that with only four days left, we probably weren’t going to get a new promo. And then BOOM, not one, but THREE new promos appear. Did HBO hear me? *looks for bugs under desktop*

Let’s start with the first one. It’s called “The Future,” and it features new dialogue from Littlefinger who’s discussing that future with….Lady Olenna, who is standing in The Best Littlefinger’s Whorehouse in King’s Landing. It is almost certainly the corollary dialogue to Olenna’s snippet from way back in the first trailer.

Ok, so there’s a lot packed into this 15 second clip. We’ll break it down as best we can.

Some of what’s cut into Littlefinger’s scene we’ve seen before. The Falling Harpy, the fire, the shot of Tyrion. More of Jaime fighting for his life on a ridge in Dorne.

The quick cuts, as far as I can see:

Melisandre
Jon fighting in Hardhome
Arya
Brienne and Pod on Horseback, with Brienne fighting
Several boat shots in a row
Dany in that amazing woven white gown
More Hardhome, with Jon pointing an accusatory finger, and wide sword swing

The Future. That’s all that’s worth discussing. And it’s coming in four days.

Second up “The Enemy Promo.” It doesn’t have any new dialogue, but let me tell you how hard I squeed, because this, This, THIS is the first clear footage of Dany in Daznak’s Pit.

We’ve also got another clear shot of the slave practice pits, as I’m thinking of them. (Though they may be there as try out pits? Not sure.)

Most of the rest we’ve seen before, including Ramsey having sex (ewwww,) Cersei storming around, Hardhome battle, Tyrion in the boat, and Dany going to visit her locked up dragons.

And finally, “The Sinners” Promo. It opens the same as The Future, with Drogon flying the coop, so to speak. But the dialogue snippet is clearly Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow. It’s the same “Strip away the gold” speech from the first trailer, but much clearer this time, without the song playing under it to distract you.
