Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 1 Preview – “The Wars to Come”
Tonight is the night! The long wait is over, and Game of Thrones will once again grace our television/computer screens. Season 5, Episode 1 is titled “The Wars to Come” and is directed by Michael Slovis (Breaking Bad), and is written by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
The official HBO Synopsis:
“Cersei and Jaime adjust to a world without Tywin. Varys reveals a conspiracy to Tyrion. Daenerys faces a new threat to her rule. Jon is caught between two kings.”
The 2 trailers for Season 5 have been very Daenerys and Jon Snow-centric, what with Dany breaking metaphorical wheels and Jon talking about wildlings and such, so I am very interested in seeing if Episode 1 will center on those two, or if we will get a more spread-out approach.
As per the official synopsis, we know that along with Jon and Dany, we will be seeing Cersei and Jamie, and Varys and Tyrion. The main question for book-readers, should be, just how much will Tyrion’s journey through Essos be altered with Varys at his side? The back and forth between those two characters has always been a delight to watch, in past seasons, and now to have them traveling together, should be more than highly entertaining.
