Take the Black Podcast—Episode 501—The Wars to Come

Welcome to Take the Black, my weekly Game of Thrones podcast. A little bit about Take the Black: this is our second season–we started out covering Season 4 of the show. We were previously hosted at our fellow Fansided site Lightlybuzzed.com, and we’re thrilled to become part of WiC’s weekly line-up during Game of Thrones Season 5. Our merry band is made up of deadpan humorist Luke, the lovely and eloquent Isis, and the always excited and fast-talking me.

Take the Black is considered an Unsullied-friendly podcast, as Luke and Isis have not read the books, and although I am currently on my 5th re-read of the series, I expertly maneuver around any potential spoilers that may arise. This week on Take the Black, Isis and I (Luke was unable to join us this week), discuss the Season 5 premiere of Game of Thrones. We talk about our favorite scenes from the episode, hitting on each location from Westeros to Essos. Isis tries to compare the sex scenes from Game of Thrones to those in Outlander…again, and I guffaw at her loudly (kidding–I totally love Outlander). And of course, we talk about that poignant death at the end of Episode 1.
