Two of our colleagues sample the Three-Eyed Raven beer, deem it delicious

When a series gets as popular as Game of Thrones, you start seeing some weird spinoffs. Game of Thrones monopoly. Valyrian steel umbrellas. Night’s Watch body pillows. You could fill an incredibly dorky warehouse with this stuff. One of the more agreeable extensions of the brand has been the growing collection of Game of Thrones-themed beer. Two of our colleagues at FanSided, Mark Carman and Lauren Lapka, bravely volunteered to sample the latest edition: the Three-Eyed Raven Dark Saison. Lauren is a fan of the show, while Mark has never seen it. Let’s watch…

Takeaways from this tasting:

  • It’s Game of Thrones, not Game is Thrones. Gotta start with the basics.
  • Clearly, this was filmed before the fifth season premiere. That’s not just the alcohol talking.
  • If anyone can explain the nature of the three-eyed raven in a matter of minutes, they deserve a gold star.
  • “That is thick. That is rich. That is delicious.” Feel free to put that on the packaging, Ommegang Brewery.
  • “It’s the besteros in the Westeros.”
  • We swear there’s no sponsorship involved here. We just liked the beer.

And there you have it! Drunk Cersei bids you good day.
