Following a reduced role in Season 4, Melisandre has roared back into the foreground of Game of Thrones this year, interacting with the characters at the Wall and preparing to help Stannis Baratheon, her very own prince that was promised, take back the North from the Boltons. Carice van Houten, who has ably played Melisandre since Season 2, will be talking about the role, and anything else fans may bring up, on Twitter at 1:00 PM EST today. While folks around here are probably most familiar with van Houten because of her role on Game of Thrones, she’s had a fruitful career spanning many years back to when she was winning awards for appearing on the Dutch stage. She worked with Paul Verhoeven and Tom Cruise in Black Book and Valkyrie respectively, and recently had a guest spot on The Simpsons.
