Inside The Episode: “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken”
It’s time for our weekly deep dive into Sunday’s episode. This week’s “Inside the Episode” features more segments than usual. Usually, the producers only go into the top three moments. This week we have five. The segments focus on Jorah learning about his father’s death, Littlefinger’s play for the North, a (very) short segment on Sansa’s wedding, a quick note on Dorne, and …a scene that didn’t happen this week at all. Dany doesn’t appear in “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken,” and yet there’s a discussion of her choice to open the fighting pits, which she made at the end of “Kill The Boy.” Interesting. I wonder if there was some last-minute editing and Dany’s decision was originally supposed to happen this week? (After all, “Kill the Boy” and “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” were written and directed by the same team.)
George R.R. Martin’s deep dive this week focuses on Arya and the Hall of Faces. This is also the first time we get an explanation behind the “how” of the Faceless Men.
The actors’ deep dive is with Iain Glen and Peter Dinklage, who discuss the scene where Jorah learns of the Old Bear’s death.
