Game of Thrones Episode 507—The Gift—Preview
There’s a new episode of Game of Thrones on the way: “The Gift,” the seventh episode of the show’s fifth season. The title could refer to any number of things. The strip of land just south of the Wall Jon is thinking of giving to the wildlings? The gift of death Arya doles out to people in the name of the Many-Faced God? Both? Neither? Something else? Time, specifically one day’s worth of time, will tell.
In any case, here’s HBO’s description of the episode: Jon prepares for conflict. Sansa tries to talk to Theon. Brienne waits for a sign. Stannis (Stephen Dillane) remains stubborn. Jaime attempts to reconnect with family.
A lot of that makes it sounds like “The Gift” will be a place-setting episode, what with so many characters preparing and waiting and remaining. I am strangely curious to see Jaime reconnect with Myrcella, though. She’s been portrayed as a perfect little princess in Dorne, and the news that she’s bastard born of incest—assuming Jaime chooses to reveal that fact—could go a long way toward tearing down the image she has of herself.
Check out the trailer for “The Gift” below.
As rocky as the storyline has been, I am interested in seeing the fallout from Margaery’s arrest. If Cersei visits her in prison, like she does in A Feast for Crows, we’ll be in for some of the more dramatic moments from that storyline. Also, many eyes will be on Winterfell as the show follows up on the controversial scene that ended “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken.”
Here’s where and when to watch this Sunday’s episode.
