Game of Thrones Cast to Take Over Conan on July 10
Conan O’Brien is coming to the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, and he’s planning to make quite the impact. TBS, the station that hosts his late-night show, just released this official presser.
When TBS’s CONAN heads to San Diego July 8-11 for a week of shows during Comic-Con® International, the late-night series will showcase the incredible star power coming to town for the annual gathering. Host Conan O’Brien will welcome the stars of three massive pop-culture phenomena: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 (Thursday, July 9), Game of Thrones (Friday, July 10) and The Walking Dead (Friday, July 10). In addition, the show will welcome a special surprise cast from an upcoming film to be unveiled in San Diego. The special week will open with appearances by actor Elijah Woodand The Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick.
CONAN’s Comic-Con episodes will be taped at San Diego’s historic Spreckels Theatre Wednesday, July 8 – Saturday, July 11, including two rare weekend shows. The episodes will air on TBS at 11 p.m. (ET/PT) each night and will be available across TBS and Team Coco’s digital and mobile platforms the following day.
The Game of Thrones stars who will be in attendance for the July 10 show are:
- Alfie Allen — Theon Greyjoy
- John Bradley — Samwell Tarly
- Liam Cunningham — Davos Seaworth
- Natalie Dormer — Margaery Tyrell
- Conleth Hill — Varys
- Hannah Murray — Gilly
- Sophie Turner — Sansa Stark
- Carice Van Houten — Melisandre
- Maisie Williams —
Arya StarkNo One
It’s interesting that while Davos and Melisandre will be showing up together, Stannis and Jon are nowhere to be seen…could there be a cover-up involved, wink-win, nod-nod? In all seriousness, new Westerosi power couple Sam and Gilly will be together, which is cool for actress Hannah Murray, as she doesn’t usually get the amount of press coverage the other cast members receive.
Alfie and Sophie being on the show together should be fun, and I’m sure that Conan will try and squeeze some information about their fates after their Thelma and Louise-esque ending in Season 5. Out of all the cast members slated to be on the show, I’m perhaps most excited about Maisie’s appearance. She always brings excitement and fun to just about every interview she does, and the chemistry between her and Sophie should make for some memorable moments.
Conan will have his hands full with nine cast members of Game of Thrones on his show all at once. I for one will be tuning in with gleeful excitement, because I need to get my Westerosi fix…I’m jonesing pretty bad.
