Images From the First Day of Casting in Girona

Today begins the first round of casting sessions for extras in the city of Girona, one of the brand spanking new locations that will appear in Game of Thrones Season 6. Much like last season, the locals are wild to be included in this world wide phenomenon. TheLocal.es reports that dozens camped out overnight, and by 9am local time, hundreds had started to queue up for a chance to be seen and considered as extras.

This is the queue at 9am local time. The Fira De Girona (The Girona Trade Fair Institution, where the auditions are being held) has been tweeting images of the line.

Long lines at #Girona to participate in the casting of Game of Thrones,” trumpets Juego de Tronos. Tronos was all over news out of Spain for filming last year as well.

Here’s a look at the head of the queue. At 10am local time, the doors were still closed. Reports were that people were being let in 20 at a time for the first initial screening.

According to EuropaPress.es, “Thousands of people [have] queued from early Monday in the Devesa Park of Girona to participate in the casting of the sixth season…which will be shot partly in the city between 3 and 18 September.”

Good Morning, Game of Thrones indeed.
