Will Tudor (Olyvar) Talks Game of Thrones Spoiler Control
Digital Spy recently sat down with Game of Thrones actor Will Tudor, who portrays Olyvar the prostitute, and discussed spoiler control on what may very well be the world’s most spoiler-prone show. Season 5 had its fair share of leaks, starting with the first four episodes being leaked online and concluding with pictures of the finale being spread throughout the internet. So how can HBO plug the leaks? Tudor has some insights:
It’s very much need-to-know. Only a couple of the core cast get the entire scripts. But they are plastered with their names, so if they went missing, then we’d know exactly where the leak came from!
Tudor goes on to say that he’s only ever received his scenes and that he has to guess what happens in the rest of the season based on those scenes. (It should be noted that Tudor doesn’t reveal whether he’s received any scenes for Season 6, and was naturally cagey about his character’s prospects. “[A]s you know from the last season, I’m not dead, so who knows?” he said.) The actor insists that he doesn’t have a problem working this way, as he considers the scripts so well written that it’s “[f]airly self-evident what’s going on.”
Depending on how Maegary and Loras Tyrell’s trials goes in Season 6, Olyvar could play a prominent role. My concern is that Olyvar is replacing a character from the books named the Blue Bard, who gives up information concerning Margaery under extreme duress. Cersei and/or Littlefinger already convinced him to flip on Loras midway through Season 5. Here’s hoping Qyburn and Cersei don’t try and extract information from him through less conventional means come Season 6.
