This sequence is really interesting. We start with Davos grieving, presumably over the lost of Stannis and Shireen.

Then we cut directly to Winterfell, and those who defeated Stannis.

That’s Sansa’s room behind Ramsay—they too have lost something of value. Incidentally, I feel like this is a good time for another SPOILER ALERT.

Ramsay, of course, is going to make people pay.

Cut to: this completely taken-out-of-context image from episode 9 and the Battle of the Bastards, where Ramsay is flaying men alive on the battlefield as a promotional gimmick.

Then! Cut back to Davos and Melisandre. It’s our turn to see Melisandre grieving, and not just over Stannis. She’s blaming herself. “The great victory I saw in the flames. All of it was a lie.” It almost sounds like her faith in the Red God’s been shaken.
