GoT 609 134 pile of flayed men

Our epilogue starts with a pile of flayed men banners on the ground, looking not unlike the pile of bodies we saw on the battlefield.

GoT 609 135 stark banner

The Stark direwolf unfurls. Our heroes have won.

GoT 609 136 melisandre

Melisandre’s face here is interesting. Is this what she saw in the flames, when she thought it was Stannis who would win? Did the Red God just work in mysterious ways?

GoT 609 137 davos pondering

Whatever it is that she’s seeing, I don’t think she sees Davos in the corner, holding that burnt stag and silently smoldering with rage.

(I’m still really curious how he’s going to react when he finds out it was Stannis who chose to let Shireen be burned.)

GoT 609 138 rickon body

Jon may have won, but it doesn’t feel much like a victory, as Rickon’s body is brought back from the field to the keep.

As Sansa pointed out, though, Rickon was dead anyway.

GoT 609 140 where is he

She’s got other fish to fry.

GoT 609 141 ramsay wakes

Here’s Ramsay, still covered in blood from Jon’s beating and only just coming to consciousness and realizing where he is.

I have questions, by the way. Did Sansa order Ramsay brought to the kennels and tied to a chair?

She may tell Ramsay that all memory of him will be forgotten, but I think this scene will live in people’s minds a long time.

GoT 609 144 sansa close up

Sansa left Winterfell with dreams of being a princess. She returned a hardened woman, shaped by the people who held her prisoner—Cersei, Joffrey, Littlefinger, and Ramsay.

GoT 609 145 dogs

Have you fed your pets today, and told them you loved them? Consider this a commercial for kibbles and bits and bits and bits…

And always have your pets spayed and neutered…
