WiC Live: We discuss Game of Thrones’ many Emmy nominations

As you probably know, Game of Thrones was handed a heaping lot of Emmy nominations this morning. Twenty-three, to be exact. (Twenty-four if you count the Outstanding Interactive Program nomination for the Game Of Thrones Main Titles 360 Experience, and 25 if you count the Outstanding Short Form Variety Series nod for Gay of Thrones. In any case: a lot.) We at the FanSided office were so worked up that we had to hop in front of the camera and break it all down. Myself, FanSided editor Josh Hill, and video czar Kayla Knierim talk about Kit Harington’s chances of winning Best Supporting Actor, the show’s chances of taking home a second Best Drama statue, and more.

Warning: extreme pastiness ahead.

We’re not the only ones reacting to this news. Cast and crew members from Game of Thrones are also weighing in. Maisie Williams, who was nominated for her work as Arya for the first time this year, was particularly excited.

And then she broke out some puns and took it into overdrive.

Lena Headey, who was nominated for her performance as Cersei, congratulated her costar. The feeling was mutual.

Headey was pleased for herself as well, of course, but she’s been here before, so she wasn’t freaking out quite as hard.

Other cast and crew members were all smiles, including Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne)…

…writer Bryan Cogman…

…and Sophie Turner (Sansa).

And then there’s this.

Congratulations to everybody.
