Official Game of Thrones coloring book coming from HBO

Fans of George R.R. Martin might begin feeling like the industry is trying to ply us with something, anything to soothe our distress at not having a release date for The Winds of Winter yet. There’s the 20th Anniversary Illustrated Edition of A Game of Thrones that will be available October 18th, and now there’s the Official HBO’s Game of Thrones Coloring Book.

This is not the first coloring book set in Westeros, as the Official A Game of Thrones Coloring Book came out last year at the beginning of the coloring books for adults craze, from publisher Bantam. That one was put out by George R.R. Martin himself, and was based on his novel specifically. Set primarily in King’s Landing, it lacked images of popular characters like Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, and Jon Snow, even though, at 96 pages, it was longer than this new book. The Official HBO’s Game of Thrones Coloring Book comes from HBO and Chronicle Books, and focuses on the show.

Since the book is based on the TV show, adjust your art expectations accordingly. To get a feel for what you’re buying, Entertainment Weekly published some of the images from the upcoming 60 pages of coloring book goodness. Check them out below.
